Midterm Response

Comments-
  • The Use of different strategies to define different spaces is good, however the number of separate strategies could be simplified and the design made more cohesive.
  • In two of the models (“Light” model in particular) the boundaries between spaces are not as distinct as they should be. The resting space can be as loud as the conversation space.
  • “Don’t feel like you have to do a lot.” The subtle moments are the most effective.
Response-
In revisions and in future projects, I will pursue a more refined and cohesive approach. Some of my ideas were simply undercut by the intrusion of other, unconnected schemes. By paring back the number of competing ideas, it will help my designs to feel more complete rather than disjointed at times.
